4Life MLM Review - Can You Make Money With the Immune System?

If you are interested in a home-based business, selling supplements can be a very easy way to make a little extra money. As populations age, more and more people are interested in maintaining good health. The easiest way to do that is by taking vitamins and other supplements. Since most everyone is taking supplements, it should be easy to sell them, right? Maybe. In this 4Life MLM review, we'll see what makes these particular supplements unique enough to earn you extra money.  

What is 4Life MLM?

The 4Life company calls itself the Immune System company. It was founded by David and Bianca Lisonbee in 1998. This multi-level marketing (MLM) company sells a wide range of nutritional supplements and is headquartered in Utah. 

The company's annual revenue continues to increase. In 2020, 4Life reported an estimated revenue of $341 million. 

The products seem to have a pretty good reputation. Unfortunately, that reputation was tarnished in 2016. According to TINA (Truth in Advertising), the company was cited for being engaged in deceptive marketing. Distributors were claiming that the products could cure, treat, or alleviate symptoms of certain diseases such as HIV/AIDS, leukemia, Parkinson's disease, Down syndrome, and other conditions. The company continues to be monitored to ensure that no further action is needed.

Are 4Life Products Worth Their Price? 

The products come in capsules, beverages, powders, chewable tablets, and topical. The Transfer Factor Plus is their flagship product. This product claims to boost your immune system and increases "natural killer cell activity" up to 437%. One of the main ingredients is colostrum which comes from lactating cows that are feeding their calves.

These supplements retail for $76 for a single bottle. A 5-pack retails for $367. The single bottle contains 60 pills and it's recommended that you take two a day. That makes this a 30-day supply which is roughly $2.53 per day. A little on the pricey side.

I'd be concerned about any promises made by Associates who claim their products can cure certain ailments. None of these products are backed up with scientific evidence or approved by the FDA. 

4Life Product Reviews 

According to Webmd.com, there are lots of positive reviews. The supplements were used for a variety of conditions including Epstein-Barr virus, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, herpes, throat cancer, and overall health. Some people even used them to improve the health of their dogs!

According to the BBB (Better Business Bureau), there have been a few complaints from customers.  Some customers say they love the products but the shipping time takes too long even when express delivery was paid for.

The 4Life Opportunity 

To get started with 4Life, you must start by joining as a Preferred Customer and buy the enrollment kit. Once you earn enough PV, you will then qualify as an Associate and will get your own website space on the 4Life site portal. Training is provided. 

Sell products by buying at the wholesale price and selling at the retail price. You keep the difference. 

To maintain your active status, you need to:

• Sell 100 monthly PV
• enroll one person to the Preferred Customer Program OR
• Recruit someone to join your team with an order of 100 PV or more

As an Associate, you will earn free products by signing customers up to the 4Life Loyalty Program.

How Much Does It Cost To Join 4Life?

There are a few different packs you can choose to get started. You must also sell 100 LP a month to remain active.

• Immune IQ Starter Pack: $146
• Preferred Customer Basic Enrollment Pack: $250
• Preferred Customer Premium Enrollment Pack: $525

There are also hidden charges. There's no mention as to who is responsible for paying shipping, taxes, and handling charges. If this is your responsibility as an Associate, the costs will further eat into the commissions you make.

Can You Make Money With 4Life?

Making money selling products on commission is a difficult task. But before we talk about the different ways to make money, let's talk about the 4Life point system.

Each product has a point value called a Life Point (LP) which is used to calculate discounts and commissions. In the example above, an Associate or Preferred Customer would qualify for a $25 discount on orders over 100 LP. 

In addition to discounts, there are four ways to earn money:

Preferred Customers: These customers pay an enrollment fee for the benefit of buying products at wholesale prices. Associates earn 25% commissions on the first orders placed by preferred customers they bring in.

Preferred customers and Associates get a 25% discount on PV (Personal Volume) of 100 points or more.

You earn 12% on the first order made by any preferred customer in your second level. Earn  5% on orders made from customers in the third level.

Retail Profits: Earn 25% on all monthly orders over 100 LP when customers use your web portal. 100 LP will give you a $25 commission.

Build a Team: Earn bonuses by building and growing your team. You also benefit from any sales made by members of your team as well. 

Website Portal: Associates earn 25% commissions on all products sold through their website portal provided the monthly total is over 100 LP.

You and your customers can also earn Loyalty points through the 4Life Loyalty Program. This isn't monetary. The 4Life Loyalty Program is a monthly subscription that allows you to earn 15% in Loyalty Points. These points can be redeemed for 4Life products.

By the company's own admission, very few 4Life Associates actually sign up to build a full-time business selling these products. Most of the people who sign up do so as Preferred Customers so they can get discounts on products. They aren't interested in being Associates or building a business.

Yet, true to form, 4Life dangle the carrot with "opportunities" to qualify for vacations and other bonuses as you move up the ladder.

4Life Commission Chart 

The information below is from the 2020 Income Disclosure Statement. 

As an Associate, the average annual commission is $504 and 39% of Associates actually earn that much. $504 a year works out to $42 a month. And 25% of Associates earned nothing at all. Not exactly life-changing, right? I'd love to know how much time an Associate spent trying to sell products and recruit people for an average of $42 a month. 

Pros 

Instant Payouts: Once you've sold 100 LP or more worth of products, your commissions are immediately credited to your bank account.

Website Commissions: Associates earn 25% commission on all monthly volumes over 100 LP from orders placed by customers on the website portal.

Money-Back Guarantee: 4Life offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on all products. It is limited to $300 in any 12-month period. This applies to all customers and Associates.

Cons 

No Commissions on Recruitment: Associates do not earn any commissions or bonuses for recruitment. They earn commissions only on products sold to their customers, new recruits' customers, and so on.

No FDA Approval: None of the products sold through 4Life are subject to FDA approval. 

Minimum Sales Level: An Associate must maintain a minimum sales level of 100 LP each month in order to qualify for commissions and to remain active.

Is 4Life a Scam? 

4Life isn't a scam. Like all MLMs, the money made working for 4Life centers around product sales. Moving up to higher levels, qualifying for bonuses, and building a team all involve additional levels of product sales. The only people that make money working for MLM companies are those that manage to make it to the top (<1%) and the company itself.

Final Thoughts 

Selling supplements seems like it can be pretty easy. And it certainly fits the home-based business criteria. But it's all commission. Unless you have a large network, you will end up spending more money than you make.
